Review of “Three is a Lucky Number"

“Three is a Lucky Number” is a short tale written by Margery Allingham, and edited in a book with other crime and suspense stories. The story is about a murderer named Ronald Frederick, who wants to kill his third wife, Edith. He is a professional killer but in the past hasn’t been lucky; his two ex-wives died in Ronald’s hands, but he can’t get their money. In this case, he is sure about his luck and has an evil optimism.

This story is very interesting, because it describes a killer’s mind, and gives you an idea of the lowest feelings of humanity. Ronald is a psycho and shows a meticulous plan to achieve his objectives. Nevertheless, Edith is an intelligent woman, and he doesn’t know that. The story will keep you really interested, but maybe will scare you and give a sad image of human beings.

However, “Three is a Lucky Number” is an excellent story for teenagers and adults who want a little moment of surprises and unexpected events. Maybe if you like a crime, blood, and detective stories, you will enjoy this tale.

The correction of my first post

My expectation (with corrections from Lang-8)

Hello dear teacher and classmates:

My name is Karla. I'm a new student of CELE-UNAM and I'm also studying in a PhD History program. I have come here with after taking a placement test and feel so happy because I haven't (formally) studied English before, but I try to practice, read on my own. I'm self taught.

I know that maybe this little text has some mistakes, but I enjoyed doing it all (even with a little help from google, haha).

My expectation of level 4 in the 412 group, mainly is to learn the basics of English in order to have a solid foundation and later I can become a bilingual person (and maybe even study another language in the future). Now I'm very optimistic, because the experiencies in every class that I've had with Professor Arturo Licona have been great. He is fun and very nice.

Well, I really hope that this text will not be too bad, but I will review all your comments and corrections.

See you later.
Karla.
